A lot of people find it difficult to engage in successful relationships, what makes it difficult is you have to be a giver to fit in instead of being a taker. A lot of relationships fail because it is not founded with making it work for both; instead it may have been founded with making it work for “me”. In other words it is impossible to be selfish and be engaged in successful relationships. You don’t have to be an expert in human relations in order to engage in successful relationships. There are just values that you must have so you could be successful in relationships. And you have to begin by not thinking of yourself first, in other words think of how you can help and be useful to others.
Be available and easy to reach, always open lines of communication don’t make it difficult for a person to reach you. Take time in answering calls if you’re busy take the initiative to call back the soonest you finish the task that’s keeping you. Do not give an impression that you are difficult to contact or find, give your partner the convenience of finding you the easiest and fastest way possible.
Be generous, now this is where being selfless comes in. Do not think of what you give as an expense always think of it as an opportunity to gain. When you sincerely give or spend something to a person important to you it is imperative that you disregard the money. There are people who think that they can buy anything. You must remember that money could be earned easily but a healthy and successful relationship is something that money can’t buy.
Make your thinking positive, there are situations that are hopeless at times and our partners may not have the strength to face such challenges. It is then very effective to motivate your partner and show that you are dependable and highly reliable. Seeing the light amidst the darkness and showing your partner that you can both make it through is an excellent effort in engaging successful relationships.
Be inspired and stay focused, to engage in successful relationships you have to be inspired all the time and keep up with the changes that are unpredictable especially if you’ve just got a steady relationship. There may be challenges that you may encounter that will attack your motivation but you should deny these challenges by staying focused. Not giving up on things that may sometimes only requires simple solutions.
To make your relationship successful you must take effort and be resourceful. Working on with a relationship is not easy and should not be considered difficult as well. A relationship is not only comprised of emotional stuff, you should be realistic that while you are engaged in a good and successful relationship it has to be maintained practically, you must not deny the fact that you have basic needs and it is necessary to fill these needs so you both could appreciate the successful relationship that you have.
